In this video, I discuss the relative merits of Bitcoin, stocks, gold, and real estate as stores of value.
Bitcoin has the advantage of being a digital, highly portable bearer asset. All of the other choices are bulky and not easily portable (gold) or not bearer assets (stocks, real estate).
While real estate and stocks do provide some protection from fiat debasement, they never appreciate enough to compensate for loss of fiat purchasing power. The same is true for gold, which has also massively underperformed Bitcoin since its inception.
